Tendmory Brings End-to-End Cremation Workflow Software to Canada
Case intake, authorizations, e-signatures, permits and chain of custody in one platform built for crematories and the funeral homes they serve in Canada.
CANADA, September 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Tendmory, the management platform for cemeteries, crematories and funeral homes, today announced the availability of its cremation case management module for crematories across Canada. The module replaces the paper folders, spreadsheets and phone calls behind most cremation workflows with a single system that follows each case from first call to the release of cremated remains.A cremation case touches many hands: the family, the funeral home, the medical certifier, provincial paperwork and the crematory operator. In most facilities the same information is re-typed several times, and the only way to answer "where is this case right now?" is to call someone. Tendmory is built around that problem.
Every case starts with structured intake, collected once in two stages: what is known at first contact, and what is completed during the arrangement. Each field lives in a single registry, so a name, date or permit number flows automatically into every document that needs it.
Funeral homes that work with a crematory on Tendmory get their own access free of charge. Instead of calling, faxing or emailing, they submit cremation requests directly through the platform, and each request arrives at the crematory already structured and ready for review. The crematory gains a cleaner intake channel, and its funeral home partners get a simpler way to send cases at no cost.
Before a case moves forward, Tendmory checks it. Completeness gates block each document until the required fields are filled and the right people have signed. Authorizations are sent for electronic signature with signers separated by role, so the authorizing agent, funeral director and crematory staff each sign only what they are responsible for. Crematories keep their own forms; Tendmory fills them automatically and configures them to provincial requirements. Pet cremations are handled as a separate case type with their own authorization.
On the crematory floor, the Cremation Console gives operators a live view of the operation: the status of every retort and cycle, the queue of cases cleared for cremation, and refrigerated holding capacity. A case cannot be loaded until it passes its checks, including the cremation permit, signed authorization, identification and implant verification, so an uncleared case never reaches the retort.
Chain of custody is recorded as a sequence of events: every transfer, identification check and handoff is logged with who, when and where, and records can be restored to an earlier state if an entry is changed by mistake. The same history carries through to scattering, so a crematory can show exactly what happened to the remains after they left the retort.
Internal reminders prompt the responsible director by email or text when a signature or document is missing. Families can start an arrangement through a public page with the crematory's own pricing, and reports can be exported to Excel or printed for inspections and audits.
Tendmory supports Canadian data residency for organizations that require it, and each deployment is adapted to the crematory's existing forms and process. The company is a member of the Ontario Association of Cemetery and Funeral Professionals (OACFP).
The cremation module works alongside the rest of the Tendmory platform, including cemetery records and mapping, digitization of historical registers, and Tendmory Care, a grave maintenance service that lets cemeteries earn revenue from care orders placed by families.
